Amsterdam Development concludes multi-year adoption partner agreement with Dutch Open Air Museum

‘Heritage puts us in touch with our culture and history. That’s why it’s important to preserve as much of it as possible. Our cultural heritage plays a vital role in our historical awareness and shared identity. We, too, have a responsibility to preserve this heritage.’

The Dutch Open Air Museum has its own Zaan Square lined with various buildings typical of North Holland’s Zaan district, including a 17th-century merchant’s house, a bakery, a 19th-century coach house and a labourer’s cottage. The square itself can be reached by crossing the drawbridge from Ouderkerk aan de Amstel, dating from 1880-1900. Amsterdam Development’s sponsorship will help to support the development, presentation and preservation of this heritage. Amsterdam Development will also contribute its expertise in aid of new initiatives.

The Dutch Open Air Museum –
Bringing history closer than ever

The Dutch Open Air Museum in Arnhem was founded over 100 years ago. It now welcomes in excess of 550,000 visitors each year, making it the most visited museum outside the Randstad region.

We believe that studying your past leads you to a better understanding of yourself. The Dutch Open Air Museum uses authentic buildings, objects and true stories to bring the past to life. It sheds light on the relationship between history in general and the history of everyday life, spanning two centuries right up to the present day. Space is given to a variety of perspectives and experiences, bringing history closer than ever.

Amsterdam Development is a sponsor of KNGF guide dogs Duke & Duchess

These guide dogs enhance people’s freedom of movement and independence. KNGF is involved with its dogs from litter to retirement leave.

We depend to a large extent on our sponsors’ financial support in order to continue our work. It goes without saying that we highly appreciate and carefully utilise such support.
